Enjoy stunning views of the Mississippi River from downtown Trempealeau or hike the trails at Perrot State Park to see stunning panoramas of the river valley from atop 500-foot bluffs.

The village of Trempealeau in southern Trempealeau County is home to three spring-fed lakes in the Mississippi River bottoms, and these lakes and backwaters provide ample fishing opportunities 12 months a year.

Visitors will also find amazing hiking trails at Perrot State Park and the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge and scenic biking on the Great River State Trail, which follows the Mississippi River. The village’s location along the Mississippi Flyway means it’s also a great spot for birdwatching, especially during the spring and fall migrations.

Boaters can access the Mississippi River via the Trempealeau Marina or the wildlife refuge, and downtown Trempealeau is home to great restaurants and shops. There are also lots of great places to stay in Trempealeau, from historic hotels and bed & breakfasts to campsites and motels.

Visit Trempealeau on the second weekend of July for the annual Trempealeau Lions Catfish Days, which features fresh catfish from the Mississippi River, live bands, and delicious food and drinks.
