Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing

A man cross-country skiing the snow covered trails at Perrot State Park

When the snow flies, put on a pair of skis or snowshoes and enjoy some of the best views in western Wisconsin on Trempealeau County's trails.

Trempealeau County’s trails are great to explore in any season and especially when the snow flies. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will enjoy some of the best views in western Wisconsin as they travel through state parks, wildlife refuges, and other natural areas.

At Perrot State Park, 9 miles of trails are groomed and tracked for cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing is allowed on any trail that isn’t groomed for skiing (including the Riverview Trail and Brady’s Bluff East and West).

The Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge has several seasonal ski and snowshoe trails, including the 3-mile Grand Tour, which follows the outer border of the refuge. The refuge’s trails are ungroomed.
